Day time community rowing - Wed am

As well as the relatively formal learn-to-row courses in the summer we have a more informal way of getting in to rowing for adults. On Wednesday mornings we offer those who are not at work (or are otherwise available) a chance to learn to row in small groups. Experienced rowers are also welcome.

We meet at 9.30 and finish 12.00 noon approx.
For beginners we have use of our Explore Rowing Swift stable training boats (three quads/fours, two doubles/pairs and two singles). For the more experienced we have the choice (within limits) of the club's fine (skinny) boats.

The charge is £5 a session and or £17 for a monthly off-peak membership.

If interested in coming along, please get in touch first as we have limited numbers we can cope with on any one day - email Colin Percy at
Advice for new starters

For anyone coming for the first time, make sure you bring sports clothing (indoor and outdoor, not too baggy), trainers and wellies/sandals/wet shoes - nothing too expensive - it might get a bit dirty or wet. Hoodies or jackets with open pockets are not allowed when rowing or on the rowing machines (thumbs get caught). A full change of clothes is advised.

Our location is shown at Postcode is NE15 8NL. What3Words code for our front gate is refers.span.door.  We are the club north of the river, just past the Boathouse PH.
