Tyne Regatta in 2020 was cancelled due to Covid-19
Waiting to see what happens in 2021!
Tyne Regatta was cancelled in 2019 due to lack of entries - see archive page here. Due to the Coronavirus, planning for the 2020 event was put on hold in March and the event was cancelled in early April due to government and Britsh Rowing Covid-related restrictions. However a Virtual Tyne ARC Regatta 2020 was held - see the archive page here.
Planning for 2021 has started, but very tentatively. There is a possibility it might move to 1 August 2021 to give more time for the Covid restrictions to be eased and to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the first rowing race on the Tyne - see https://blog.twmuseums.org.uk/the-development-of-the-racing-shell-tyne-innovations-by-ian-whitehead/. But if we are allowed to run on 19 we will try and go for it.
