The men's first eight crew out in the new boat at Tyne Head on 16 Feb 19
It is expected that squad members attend all water sessions, however many members make use of local gyms and fitness centres to complete the land training and submit their scores electronically. The athletes with a desire to do more are provided with a supplementary training program to complete in their own time.
The squad competes at local and national levels throughout the year with the focus on bigger boats through the winter with the goal for many being competing at the Head of the River. Through the summer the goal for the squad is Henley Royal Regatta for the more experienced members and Durham Regatta for those less experienced.
